Il campione torinese aveva chiuso il primo round (65) con un solo colpo in meno rispetto allo score di Lee Westwood. Il vantaggio è poi rimasto inalterato anche sugli altri tre magnifici round (70-67-67).

Nella gara disputata a Shanghai, nei giorni 1-7 presso il Sheshan International Golf Club (Par 70), Edoardo si è classificato al 41° posto (72-71-76-70), mentre Matteo Manassero al 53° (71-70-81-71).
